Goodwin Weber PLLC expands practice areas to include NSLs and National Security Law

Goodwin Weber PLLC, a boutique law firm with offices in Maryland and Washington, DC, announces the expansion of its practice into National Security Law.  A member of the firm, David P. Weber, attorney and certified fraud examiner, has extensive experience in national security law, and will be leading the practice group.

In specific, Weber has extensive experience in legal issues concerning National Security Letters (“NSLs”).  NSLs are, in most cases, issued by the Federal Bureau of Investigation to internet carriers, ISPs, federally insured depository institutions, or telephone companies to obtain access to subscriber or customer information.  NSLs function, in many ways, as administrative subpoenas, but come with many important legal distinctions.  If you are a business served with an NSL, or a private citizen who believes an NSL has been used to obtain records, Goodwin Weber is available to consult with regards to legal response.
